Herbert Morton have been in Chartered Accountancy for over 35 years; with a solid and reliable partnership base. We have three partners; with Mr Peter Morton specialising in the Motor Trade Industry.
We currently act as consultants to over 190 service station and convenience store operators throughout New Zealand; from Invercargill in the South to Kaitaia in the North. We also produce monthly, bi-monthly or six monthly management results for over 70 service stations.
Peter Morton has, conducted seminars on Service Station Management all over New Zealand. These seminars, organised by Herbert Morton and the Motor Trade Association covered marketing, gross profit margins, overhead controls and general discussions on all aspects of service station management.
Herbert Morton have, for the last five years, completed on behalf of its own client base; comparisons of profitability, shop prices, overheads and market trends. Herbert Morton conduct an annual conference for their service station clients, arranging top guest speakers on relevant issues; including employment, marketing and the latest fraud control methods. Peter Morton is a previous service station and convenience store operator.

Niki Adam is our Senior Accountant in Cambridge with responsibility to the Service Station accounting function. Niki is able to answer any queries in the accounting area; including the computer area.
Cushla Vallance is our computer installation and support person, including responsibility to the Service Station Accounting Function. Cushla is able to answer any queries in the computer areas; including the accounting area.
Regularly Peter and his team visit our clients at their service stations, to help understand the actual problems on the site. The “Coal Face” is where it all happens, and this understanding helps our clients achieve a higher profit level.
